            Harvest Christian Fellowhip is a Non-denominational church because we see the New Testament models of local churches as autonomous and self-governing. Though we are independent of a denomination, we are not independent of relationship and accountability with other church leaders outside our local expression. We not only see the importance of an accountability structure, we value it. Our accountability structure is established on a family model. We recognize our “parents” as being New Testament Church in Massena NY. The Eldership team of that assembly oversaw the planting endeavor of Harvest as well as the personal development of the team leader of the plant, Roy Stephenson. His life is personally accountable first to the elders of Harvest and then to the elders of New Testament Church. As a married son would relate to his parents, so we relate to our spiritual parents, continuing a family of churches that blesses and relates to each other. Our family ties go beyond New Testament church, as we enjoy the blessings of churches that we see as “brother” or “sister” churches that we relate to on an ongoing basis. These are churches of like-mindedness that we enjoy exchange, ministry and life with. Our “extended family” began out of one church in Portland Oregon, (formally Bible Temple, and now City Bible Church) under the leadership of Brother Dick Iverson. We cherish these relationships and honor them by acknowledging our part in Ministers Fellowship International.
